Here and Now: Strategies for Calmness in the Modern Whirlwind

In the whirlwind of high-performance living, for me finding moments of peace becomes paramount. I’ve discovered that amidst anxious moments, mental and emotional self-care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.

One strategy that has been a game-changer for me is taking a walk through my residential neighborhood. This simple act connects me with nature, which never fails to offer a gentle reminder that I am always supported by a Being greater than myself. As such, I am empowered to release the grip on the “how” and “when” of things, and able to open myself more to creative solutions and miracles.

On rainy days, I’ve trained my mind to be receptive to insights from the immediate environment, like potted plants. I’ve learned that it’s in such moments of being in the “here and now” that I am able to shift from stress to calmness, moving ahead with inner peace, no matter what life throws my way.

As we navigate the complexities of life in this modern era, I believe it’s crucial to recognize the power that we have within ourselves.
